30 for 30: Day 8

I love color, but there is definitely something to be said for an all neutral ensemble.  The color palette is sophisticated, but the clothes are still fun and casual.  This asymmetrical sweater is one of my favorite wardrobe pieces, yet it wasn't initially considered for the 30 for 30.  Now, I'm so glad I decided to include it.

I have a weee bit of a confession to make.  I "shopped" this weekend.  (gasp! shock! dismay! rule breaker!)
BUT I did NOT spend any money, so I'm hoping that it's OK.

My pal Ashley joined the Peace Corp.  She only has a couple more days in Minnesota, and then she's off to Africa for nearly 2 years (!!!).  I'm so very proud (and a little envious) of her and her bravery.  She had a bunch of girls over Friday night to go through her things - clothes, shoes, accessories, cleaning supplies, ect.  There was some great stuff in my size which I gladly took off her hands.  It's a little torturous to have to wait out the 30 for 30 before I wear them, but I will endure.

Then Old Man Winter dropped a doozy on us.  We woke up Saturday morning to lots and lots of snow.  It was the perfect day to hit up the MOA (Mall of America).  Steve had some Disney Dollars to spend at the Disney Store, so we got a good head start on Christmas shopping for our little nieces.  Then I exchanged these boots at DSW for a pair that felt more 'me'.  It was an even exchange, so no money spent.  And again, I won't be wearing them until 30 for 30 is over.

After MOA, we went mattress shopping at Dock 86.  We bought a heavenly pillow top mattress and top-of-the-line pillows.  After sleeping the way we have for the last 5 years, sleeping on high-quality is going to take some getting used to, but our bodies will thank us in the long run.

This is really cute! And totally agree about the mattress - worth the investment for sure.

I think this is my favorite outfit of yours that you've worn for this challenge. I too love (love, love, love) color, but this is a really great neutral outfit. Great job!

Oh, man. This outfit is adorable! I love how funky you've managed to make it while also seeming very put together.

Where in Africa is your friend going for Peace Corps? I was a PCV in Namibia from 2004 to 2006, two of the best and most difficult years of my life.
