Lately, I've been coming across so many amazing, new-to-me blogs. Inspired somewhat by Andrea and Gussy, I have contemplated numerous ways I could share my new favorites with you here on Spoils of Wear (though some are so good I want to be selfish and keep them all to myself, but I won't).
I'm overwhelmed with the mass-quantity of fabulous blogs out there. Just when I say to myself, "Jill! You're sick! You follow too many blogs! That's it! No more!" I find yet another, and another that I just have to subscribe to. Have you seen my updated Blog Roll? It's massive, and that isn't even ALL of them.
You know what they say about addicts...they love company. Wait - that's misery, isn't it? Well...it still applies. So every once in a while, I'm going to spring a little Blogtrotting on you. Starting with this one:
Have you met Brittney...?
Blog Name & URL:
A Day in the Life Too... (http://adayinlifetoo.blogspot.com/)
Aside from my blog? Lately, I'm really loving decorating/styling my home on the cheap. I've reupholstered several craigslist steals in some great fabrics, repainted a random assortment of other furniture, and drilled about a million holes into our walls trying to figure out what should hang where. (My husband is suuuuper excited about that.) Don’t worry--usually I end up deciding that things should hang where they cover the most holes. Heh.
Um, this is a little embarrassing. Most people probably have some uber-famous style icons, like a Hepburn or Madonna (please no), but mine doesn't even have a name. Well, I'm sure she does, I just don't know it. She’s a girl I saw at an outlet mall about 5 years ago, and I couldn't stop looking at her. (I know! Sooo creepy! But I played it cool, you guys. She didn't even notice me...I'm sure of it...really pretty hopefully sure...) Her look exuded casual chic, total acceptance of herself and comfort in her own skin, confidence, and joy. I've thought about her almost daily (okay, maybe weekly? bi-weekly? either way...lots of times, seeing as how she's a total stranger who probably pictures my face when she hears the words “stalker” or "America's Most Wanted”), as I try to replicate not her clothes (although her style was awesome), but rather her aura.
(Wow. I think I just used an entire year’s worth of parenthetical asides. My apologies to all the grad students out there needing to cite references in their theses…)
Makes you laugh:
My husband & kids, myself (is that weird to admit? that sometimes I think I’m hilarious? don’t worry, though…usually, I’m the only one who feels that way and I’ll laugh myself silly as my husband looks on, wondering if (a) I’ll ever breathe again and (b) there are any peanut M&Ms in the house), Seinfeld reruns (Kramer: “I’m out there, Jerry, and I’m llllllllovin’ every minute of it!”), Kevin James in general, my friends, Sonic commercials, and most of my memories. And probably other stuff that I can’t think of right now because, really, I like to spend a good chunk of my life in laughter.
