Copycat: Change is Good

To everyone who voted on my hair last week:  you rock.  You voted exactly how I wanted you to (muah ha ha) and plan to be sporting a pixie(ish) cut within the next month or so.  Steve and I have a 5 YEAR (!!!) wedding anniversary coming up in May, and I have big plans for new, family pictures for which I want my hair to be awesome.  In the meantime, I went blond(er) and took off a few inches, which I also like.  Compliments to my sis-in-law, Angie!

I took my cues for the outfit (above) from this Esprit look (yet again).  I have had a skirt just like this, so I thought this would be easy to recreate, but alas, the skirt was too big.  To the donation pile it went.

I sort of like the shorts better anyway - better for my short-person proportions.

Any other online retailers that display items in full outfits like Esprit? Because I'm really diggin' this 'copycat' thing, but need more options.  ESPRIT Sale

Other random facts about this outfit:
  • This scarf was on clearance at H&M for $3.
  • This shirt is maternity XS.  Either I didn't realize until after I bought it, or it was so cheap that I didn't care.
  • This leather jacket is about 5 years old, and fits better now than it ever has.  I love leather.
  • If these shorts don't shrink in the wash (again), it will be a miracle.

Shirt:  Target
Scarf:  H&M
Shorts:  H&M
Tights:  Target
Boots:  Target
Jacket:  Wilson's, gift from Stevie
Purse:  Vintage, thrifted

I have 2 maternity shirts - and have never been pregnant! One I bought by mistake, and the other I bought on purpose because I loved it. And really, who needs XS maternity shirts anyways... very cute!

I love seeing how you take your inspiration and make an outfit your own! Have you tried looking at Fossil? I always love their outfits they put together, and they kind of have the same vibe as Esprit. Highly recommend!

I would LOVE for something to be too big lately. You should consider joining a swap because that is a cute skirt! Can't wait to see the hair!

I really like your brightened up version of this outfit, and I think you will look so adorable with the pixie cut!

I really like this recreation - even better than the original actually. I'm a sucker for bright clothes, what can I say.

I've never purchased maternity clothing on accident, but I've been close a couple of times. Luckily I've noticed prior to checking out. Although, cute as your look in yours, maybe I won't *notice* next time.

Love the bright colors of the shirt and scarf. The shirt doesn't look maternity at all, so I say good find! Our 5-year anniversary is in July, and now you've got me thinking about taking pictures too (you know, other than our usual camera-stretched-out-in-front-of-our-faces self portraits).

I wouldn't have known that was a maternity shirt if you hadn't said anything. It's cute!

I really like this outfit. I love the short and tights look, prolly cause I couldn't pull it off, but I'd love to! BTW I love maternity clothes and have completely purchased it at Target when on clearance.
