The Shirt, Day 5 & FBFF

FBFF: Outside Influences...

1. What magazines do you subscribe to?
Lucky is the only one I subscribe to.  I'll pick up a random Glamour or Marie Claire when I'm traveling, but Lucky has more real-girl styles that I can relate to, and I like to seek out trends that they advertise at a fraction of the cost.

2. Do you watch any fashion TV shows?
I used to really enjoy What Not To Wear and Project Runway, but since ditching cable, haven't really followed any other fashion shows.  It's probably better that way.

3. Beyond blogs, what websites do you frequent for fashion inspiration?
I have accounts at Weardrobe, Polyvore, and, but only browse them occasionally.  Blogs really are my #1 source of fashion inspiration.

4. Advertisements play a huge role in forming public opinion about a product or brand… what ads do you like and why?
I typically like the ads that Gap puts out.  They keep with the down-to-earth feel of their store and clothes.  They usually have a lot of energy in their commercials. And they'll feature celebrities, portraying them as regular people who shop and wear Gap.  It comes across as cool, yet attainable.  And happy.  I like happy ads.  Remember this one with SJP & Lenny Kravitz?

5. Do you own any fashion books?
Does Confessions of a Shopaholic count?  I loved that series.

Awesome post and yes, I loved that commercial. The other one I loved from Gap was when they were doing a riff on America from West Side Story. LOVED.

Great outfit the green is amazing.

SJP is the best, I love the GAP ads. I have a bag made out of the scarf she is wearing under the pink sweater, from (years ago) GAP. It's a great print!

My best friend nearly disowned me because of my obsession with that SJP Gap ad. Every time I saw it on TV or heard the song on the radio, he would just roll his eyes. Oh, he knew what was coming . . . A fantastic SJP stunt double rookie style replay of the commercial. If that's wrong, I don't wanna be right.

I absolutely loved when SJP was in the Gap ads. I thought their clothes were cuter back then too...

You have done a fabulous job remixing that shirt...who would have thought it would be so versatile?
