Can we talk about armpits for a sec? If you think this subject is too personal for the Internet, just wait until I review a GoGirl. Now that might be a little awkward. But we're all friends here, right?
The folks at Dove are excited about their new go sleeveless campaign and contacted me about trying the new product for myself. My experience with deodorant has rarely been positive. It's either pasty, gets all over my clothes and accumulates in the creases of my underarms - OR - it's wet and goopy with results that expire after only a few hours. And regardless of brand or type, solid or gel, scented or unscented, all of it irritates my sensitive, razor-burned skin.
Here's what go sleeveless is about;
According to a recent study, nearly 100% of women surveyed think their underarms are unattractive, and more than half of these women say the condition of their underarms affects their wardrobe choices.
Yep. That's definitely me. My underarms always have those annoying, red, pimple-like bumps that make me much more unsure than sure. It doesn't matter what soap or creme I use or how new the razor is...armpit acne...ew.
New Dove Ultimate go sleeveless claims to:
• Provide softer, smoother underarms in just 5 days
• 24-hour odor and wetness protection
• Alleviate white marks and soothe shaving irritation
So I was pretty pumped when Dove offered to send me free deodorant - free is my favorite. My expectations were low. I've been using the product for about 2 weeks. Has it miraculously transformed my armpits into flawless, perfumed perfection? Nope. Do I still have nasty, red bumps? Yep. Do I think it's a good product? Actually...it's alright. I know I'm a tough case.
Though the bumps persist, overall irritation has decreased. My underarms look and feel a little less raw and dry. I also like that it's a solid - which seems to dry and deodorize better - but it doesn't leave that yucky, white residue and I haven't noticed any traces of it on my clothing.
In partnership with Dove go sleeveless Deodorant, Jessica Szohr is inviting women everywhere to design their own sleeveless top with the go sleeveless Fashion Challenge app on Dove’s Facebook page, where they can also view the sleeveless top gallery and vote on their favorite designs. By submitting a unique design, each participant will automatically be entered for a chance to win a New York City shopping trip with Jessica Szohr worth $5,000.*Official rules.
I designed 2 sleeveless tops and must admit, it's pretty fun, even a little addicting. Give it a whirl. But if you win, you have to let me tag along with you and Jessica in New York, ok? And you have to share your $5,000. Deal? I'm glad we agree.
